What the SEO checker checks

The SEO checker loads your home page and up to 49 more pages, the most important first: the pages your home page links to, then those from your sitemap. It reads them the way a browser gets them from the server. That gives the grade and the results:

  • System: whether your website runs on TYPO3, Drupal or WordPress, which version is installed and until when it gets security updates.
  • Page titles and descriptions: whether every page has them and whether they are too short, too long or duplicated.
  • Main heading and indexing: whether every page has exactly one H1 and whether Google may index it.
  • Technology: encryption, redirects, response time, robots.txt, sitemap and the setup for phones.
  • AI search: whether ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Gemini may read your website.

Is the SEO checker free?

Does the website checker detect which CMS we use?

Yes, if it is TYPO3, Drupal or WordPress. It reads the version as far as the website shows it from the outside, for TYPO3 usually only the major version, such as TYPO3 12. For other systems it checks the SEO points only.

What does the grade in the SEO check mean?

It sums up all SEO points as a letter grade from A to F. Page titles, descriptions and indexing count twice, because they decide most whether and how your pages show up on Google. The version of your system does not count toward the grade.

Does the SEO checker replace an SEO audit?

No. The check measures what can be measured on the technical side from the outside, on up to 50 pages. An SEO audit also looks at keywords, content, competitors and backlinks, and at which pages matter most to you. That is what we do as an SEO company.

What does it mean if our version no longer gets security updates?

Newly found security holes are no longer fixed for your version. The website keeps running, but it can be attacked as soon as a hole becomes known. The way out is an update to a supported version, and for TYPO3 and Drupal we take care of that.
