Every LTS version of TYPO3 gets free updates for about three years. After that, security updates are only available through ELTS, the paid support of TYPO3 GmbH. Without these security updates, newly discovered vulnerabilities stay open.

TYPO3 upgrades and maintenance

We keep your installation up to date: we have taken the website of the Chamber of Architects Baden-Württemberg through every upgrade since TYPO3 version 4, with our own deployment and upgrade concept. Every upgrade and migration to the next LTS version, the release with long-term support, runs in three steps: an extensions check, testing on a separate staging environment, then go-live. That is how we took a long-grown website with several thousand pages from TYPO3 8 to TYPO3 13 in two months, including all extensions. For the Bavarian Chamber of Architects, the TYPO3 upgrade is part of the relaunch we are working on now. After the update we can keep looking after your website, with maintenance and support from one team.

Should we redesign our TYPO3 site or modernize it?

Modernizing is often enough. We review your existing TYPO3 installation, improve performance and security and add new features without rebuilding everything. That saves time and budget. A complete redesign remains the way to the most polished result, but it often isn't necessary.

Do you handle TYPO3 upgrades to the latest version?

Yes, including TYPO3 14, the current LTS release since April 2026. We have supported the website of the Chamber of Architects Baden-Württemberg through every upgrade since TYPO3 version 4. Along the way we developed an industry-leading deployment and upgrade concept that lets us carry out TYPO3 upgrades in particular quickly, efficiently and cost-effectively.

Do you take over TYPO3 sites from other agencies?

Yes. For takeovers we follow a fixed process that covers the codebase, extensions, data structures and caching. That way we know what's in your installation before the first update.

Can we switch from WordPress to TYPO3?

Yes. We bring your content over to the new system following a migration concept of our own, automatically wherever possible, and every old URL gets a redirect, on TYPO3 with our own extension. We have already moved a site away from WordPress for Klimawandel Schule, in that case to Drupal.

Do you develop custom TYPO3 extensions?

Yes. With Extbase we develop TYPO3 extensions that fit your requirements exactly instead of falling back on standard solutions. For the Chamber of Architects Baden-Württemberg, for example, we digitized all of their forms this way.

Do you connect TYPO3 to CRM or ERP systems?

Yes. At the Chamber of Architects Baden-Württemberg, the TYPO3 website is connected to the ERP system Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central: applications from the digital application system arrive there directly, so case handlers no longer have to retype them.

Is TYPO3 a good fit for multilingual and multisite projects?

Yes, that's exactly where TYPO3 is strong. Multiple languages and multiple websites in one installation are built in from the start. That makes it a good fit for corporate portals and organizations with many pages. We built this for Fichtner, for example.

We work with both. We recommend TYPO3 when many editors with different permissions work on one or more websites. We choose Drupal when performance and integrations come first, for example for platforms with a shop or a database.
