What sets us apart

App's driving Growth

At FUF, we specialize in the development of mobile apps and web applications that are precisely tailored to our customers requirements. With over 30 years of experience in software and app development, we realize tailor-made app solution from the initial idea to publication in the App or Google Play Store.

Over the years we established an App Development Process:

1. App requirements

What should the app do? Who uses it, when and how? Which functions are essential and which are just nice to have? A structured analysis of requirements shapes the foundation for every successful app. With experience from digital projects in various industries, we define functions not only technically, but also strategically. This results in an app idea, thats driven by a clear focus on user behavior, added value and business objectives. What to settle before the contract is in our guide Hiring an app development company.

2. Familiarization

We prefer to set up an app from scratch, but not every project has to start over from zero. It often makes more sense to integrate existing systems, APIs or platforms like an ERP, a customer portal or a web backend. We develop apps that can be  integrated into existing infrastructures. This saves time, budget and complexity. Whether it's an extension, an interface integration or a MVP on an existing database: We focus on practical solutions, not technical overcomplication.

3. Technical Know-How

We develop apps that do more than just look good: High performing, stable, maintainable and tailored to the platform for which they are intended for. Every app benefits from our technical expertise in the areas of architecture, security, UX/UI and device integration. We focus on clear app design and efficient development instead of cumbersome modular systems or overloaded frameworks.

4. Result

The results are mobile applications that work in real life. Whether it's within organizations or externally for customers. Every app we develop is individually tailored to the target group, use case and platform.

What is your app about?

Want to have your app developed?

A web app instead of an app from the store?

Not every app has to go into the store. A web app runs in the browser on any device, a progressive web app also works offline. The construction site app for Hegau Energie is such a web app: it sends push notifications without a download from the App Store, and when there is no reception on site, uploads wait in a queue. If a better website will do instead of an app, a website redesign is the better step, for example with a website on Drupal.

Frequently asked questions

Native or hybrid app: which is right for us?

It depends on what the app needs to do. A hybrid app runs on iOS, Android and the web from a single codebase, which saves effort and makes updates easier. Native pays off when the app goes deep into the system and needs to respond especially fast. We build both, also with Flutter.

Do you build hybrid B2B apps with Flutter?

Yes. Hybrid apps run on iOS and Android from a single codebase, and we also build them with Flutter. For Weleda AG we built a medicines directory for healthcare professionals as a hybrid app, with DocCheck login for midwives and doctors and offline use, and for the Chamber of Architects Baden-Württemberg an architecture guide.

When does an app make more sense than a website?

When you need features a website can't handle well: push notifications, the camera or GPS. If a website with app features such as offline use is enough, a progressive web app is often the more affordable option.

Do you use an app builder?

No. We rely on clear app design and clean development instead of clunky app builders or bloated frameworks. Every app is tailored to its audience, its purpose and its platform.

Can the app connect to our existing systems?

Yes. Whether it's an ERP, a customer portal or a web backend, we connect your existing systems and APIs instead of rebuilding everything. That saves you time, budget and complexity.

Do you publish the app in the App Store?

Yes, from the first idea to the release in the App Store and on Google Play.

Can we start with an MVP?

Yes. An MVP based on your existing data, or an extension of an app you already have, is enough to get started. That way you test the idea before you commit to the full scope.

Which devices do you develop for?

For iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch with SwiftUI, and for Android, native or hybrid.

Do you build iOS and Android apps for mid-sized companies?

Yes, natively for both platforms or as a hybrid app with one shared codebase. For iPhone and iPad we code in SwiftUI, for Android in Kotlin and Java. More on our pages on iOS app development and Android app development.

Who maintains the app after launch?

We do, if you want. Apps need ongoing care, because Apple and Google change their requirements regularly. In 2026, for example, we brought the Architectural Guide Baden-Württemberg up to Google Play's new Android requirement. We also keep developing new features on request.

How long does it take to build an app?

You'll have a clickable prototype within a few weeks. The test phase of the construction site app for Hegau Energie, for example, ran for four weeks. We set the timeline for the full app when you place the order, depending on features and integrations.

Can you build an app fast?

Yes. We had the wallet membership card of the Chamber of Architects Baden-Württemberg in Google Wallet as a real test pass just two days after the project started. Hegau Energie's construction site app ran as a finished web app in a test environment less than two weeks after the go.

Are the initial consultation and the analysis of our app idea free?

Yes, both are free. In the initial consultation we get to know you and your idea, in the analysis we look at what the app has to do, which devices it should run on and which systems it talks to. Just send us a message using the form on this page.
