To ensure maximum performance, we exploit the advantages of the CMS: We avoid third-party plug-ins, configure all customer requirements individually, and omit core products before restructuring them extensively. 2. Familiarization

While we prefer to completely relaunch a project, as this is the cleanest and best way to get a new and fully-fledged website, this may not be the best or most efficient option for our clients and their projects.

We have completely mastered Drupal in all its depth and architecture, and can easily extend, expand or renovate existing Drupal websites. This allows for a faster and usually more cost-effective implementation, than planning and building a new Drupal website.

Drupal 10 gets security updates only until December 9, 2026. Older versions such as Drupal 9 or 8 have gone without them for much longer. Without security updates, newly discovered vulnerabilities stay open.

A Drupal relaunch without losing content

When relaunching on Drupal, we migrate the content of the old website and redirect old URLs so your Google results still lead somewhere. For Messepark we carried the content of the old site over into a new website on Drupal 11. How we plan a relaunch step by step is shown on our page on website redesign.

Multilingual websites with Drupal

Multiple languages are built into Drupal. The Messepark website runs in German and English and converts the opening hours to the 12-hour format in English. For the Robert Bosch Stiftung we built the bilingual site so that editors could create the English version of a German page with one click, including all paragraphs of the original.

Custom modules and themes for Drupal

Instead of stacking third-party modules, we build features ourselves. For Messepark, for example, a custom module for opening hours with rules and holidays. We also build the design as a custom theme, based on our web design or on your finished screen designs.

Frequently asked questions

Should we rebuild our Drupal site or extend it?

Both work. A new Drupal website is the most direct route, but it is often smarter to extend and renovate the existing installation. That is usually faster and cheaper than a rebuild, because we know Drupal down to its architecture.

Can you move our site to the latest Drupal version?

Yes. If your site still runs on Drupal 10, we will move it to Drupal 11, because Drupal 10 only receives security updates until December 9, 2026. Our Drupal websites always run on the latest and most secure Drupal versions.

Who will upgrade our site from Drupal 10 to Drupal 11?

We can, and Drupal 10 only gets security updates until December 9, 2026. We review your installation and its modules, set a roadmap, test the upgrade on a separate staging environment and then take it live in a controlled way. We moved the virtual city museum of Winnenden, for example, from Drupal 9 to Drupal 11.

Can we migrate from WordPress to Drupal?

Yes. For Klimawandel Schule we moved the website from WordPress to Drupal. We bring over the content from your old system following a migration concept of our own.

Do you use a lot of plugins?

As few as possible. We build what you need directly in Drupal instead of stacking third-party modules. That keeps the website fast and makes it easier to move to new versions.

Can Drupal connect to our ERP or newsletter tool?

Yes. Whether it's an ERP system, social media streams or a newsletter sent from your database, Drupal can be extended modularly, later on as well. Integrations with third-party systems are part of our core business.

Is Drupal easy for our editors to use?

Yes. We build Drupal in a modular way, with clear building blocks for text, images and lists. That way your editors manage their content themselves day to day, and you don't need an agency for small requests anymore.

Do you provide support and security updates for existing Drupal websites?

Yes, also for Drupal websites built by another agency. Our website maintenance includes regular updates, security updates, monitoring and daily backups, and we close security holes right away.

Do you build ecommerce stores with Drupal?

Yes. For BKI we built a store directly in Drupal, without Drupal Commerce. That way it fits their products and processes exactly.

Do you host high-traffic Drupal websites?

Yes, on our own high-availability servers. Depending on traffic, your website runs on a shared server with extra computing resources or on its own virtual or physical server, more on our web hosting page.

How long have you been working with Drupal?

Since 2001, almost from the very beginning. Since then we have delivered platforms such as the websites of the Robert Bosch Foundation, BKI and Messepark.

TYPO3 or Drupal: which should we choose?

We work with both. We recommend TYPO3 when many editors with different permissions work on one or more websites. We choose Drupal when performance and integrations come first, for example for platforms with a shop or a database.
